Also known as Con Lan Island or Unicorn Island, Thoison Island is one of four islands in the My Tho River. Residents here earn their living by growing fruit trees, bee keeping, fishing and aquaculture, or by taking visitors up and down tiny canals on small canoes. Visitors to this island can have the chance of tasting locally grown fruits as well as honey-lime tea, with honey produced in their own bee hives, dotted all over the island. Moreover, they will be able to discover for themselves how coconut candy is made; beginning with the cracking open of a coconut to the packaging of these delicious local sweets.
In this Learning Experience, you will explore how figurative language is used to express ideas and images in a more creative manner. This Learning Experience is suitable for learners Year 2 and above.
