The small village of Ambarita is situated in Samosir Island, surrounded by the tranquil waters of Lake Toba. Ambarita is famous for its traditional Batak houses as well as for its collection of stone chairs, a representation of their ancient court of law. Visitors will also get the chance to see the unique Gondang Sigale-Gale, a traditional dance that involves a moving puppet doll. Legend has it that the doll is magical, and every village on Samosir Island proudly owns their own Sigale-Sigale doll.
