Tanah Lot, a rock formation that is home to the pilgrimage temple of Pura Tanah Lot, attracts thousands of visitors from near and far every year. Legend has it that the temple was created by a 15th century Hindu priest called Dang Hyang Nirartha, who also created a holy spring, known as beji among the locals.
