Bangkok Tree House was established in 2002 in Bang Krachao, a green belt land by the Chao Phraya River and a short distance away from the city of Bangkok. The eco-friendly hotel’s walls, floors and ceiling are made of bamboo and its rooms are powered by solar energy. To support members of the local community, only those living within five minutes of walking distance from the hotel are employed here. The hotel also obtains its supply of herbal soaps, shampoos and food products from local vendors working within the vicinity of the hotel [1]. This aside, the hotel also does its bit to clean up the Chao Phraya River.
In this Learning Experience, you will learn how a commercial business uses renewable energy resources in efforts to promote sustainable development. You will also learn how the Chao Phraya River benefits every time a person makes a booking at the eco-friendly hotel. This Learning Experience is suitable for learners Year 3 and above. Note: The reflection phase will take place under Point A.
