About this Place Of Interest

Pandawa Beach is located near Kutuh Village in the southern Bukit Peninsula of Bali. Tucked away behind towering limestone cliffs and facing the Indian Ocean, this beach was named after the five Pandawa brothers in the Mahabharata epic. In fact, statues of the Pandawa brothers - Arjuna, Bhima, Nakula, Sahadeva and Yudhishthira - have been placed in five spaces carved out of a limestone cliff wall facing the beach and they are all dressed in Balinese ornaments. Apart from offering spectacular sunrises and sunsets, this relatively new tourist destination also provides visitors a chance to see patches of coral reefs up close. Visitors may also participate in paragliding or canoeing.

About this Learning Experience

In this Learning Experience, you will learn that while certain coral reefs may present hazards to divers and surfers, they play an important role in coastal protection. You will also learn why a limestone cliff depicting religious statues is losing its appeal. This Learning Experience is suitable for learners Year 1 to Year 3. Note: The reflection phase will take place under Point A.
