Wat Samphran, otherwise known as the Great Dragon Temple, is a 17-story tower that is dramatically unique due to the statue of the large dragon twining and clawing its way upwards. Although not as popular as some of Thailand’s other pagodas, Wat Samphran is nevertheless still a stunning place to explore as it possesses various attractions such as a giant bronze Buddha and numerous other giant animal statues.
In this Learning Experience, you will learn about the role of animals in mythology, and how their presence can be used to denote specific ranks in social hierarchies. This LE is suitable for students Year 4 and above.
