This famous Buddhist temple is located in Central Java, Indonesia. The temple was built around the 9th century in the shape of a traditional Buddhist mandala. There are three sections in the temple called Kamadhatu, Rupadhatu and Arupadhatu. The central sphere in the Arupadhatu represents the unconsciousness, or Nirvana. In this learning experience, you will learn how understanding science is important to the conservation of ancient sites.
