Located near the crater rim in Northeast Bali, the Batur UNESCO Geopark Museum is a popular tourist destination. It uses interactive displays, models and rock samples to demonstrate the enormous forces that form the volcanic landscape. The uniqueness of the area’s geology, ecosystem, and original culture motivated by the Balinese Hindu religion make it a must-see attraction in Indonesia.
In this Learning Experience (LE), students will study how the concept of ratios and proportions can be implemented in creating landscape models meant for tourism and scientific research purposes. This LE is suitable for lower secondary students.
