The Science Centre of Singapore (SCS), which sits on a 10-hectare site in Jurong East, was officially opened by the then Minister in Charge of the Science Centre Board Dr. Toh Chin Chye on December 10th, 1977. Designed by renowned South East Asia architect Raymond Woo, who had won the Science Centre's architectural design competition, the world-acclaimed scientific institution receives more than one million visitors annually. According to Gan and Chew (2015), the SCS "supports Singapore's knowledge-oriented culture as a regional science centre" [1]. Currently, SCS comprises the Main Building, an Annexe Building, Outdoor Gardens, Omni-Theatre and the Snow City, which is the country’s “first and only permanent indoor Snow Centre and houses a 60-metre long snow slope for visitors to ski, snowboard and snow tube” [2]. Meanwhile, the centre’s Omni-Theater is the country’s only 8K digital Dome theater with praiseworthy movies and live planetarium shows.
