About this Place Of Interest


This Learning experience will teach you about how the properties of different materials can be used for different parts of a pagoda. You will also learn to compare and contrast the materials used in the construction of the original pagoda and the replice. This Learning Experience is suitable for secondary school, year 1-3 students.

About this Learning Experience


Located at about 50km from Medan, the Shwedagon Pagoda is a replica of the Shwedagon Pagoda in Myanmar. The construction of the building begun in 2007 and was completed in 2010. The replica consists of a large and small pagoda, an Ashoka pillar and a Sakyamuni Buddha statue. The Replica is painted in gold and at the top of the Pagoda, there are dozens of bells that swing and jingle when the wind touches them.
